How long have you been tattooing and what styles do you specialize in?

I have been tattooing since 2007, my tattoo career started in the UK. I co owned Shades of Gray in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. I moved to New Orleans in 2009. I have worked in several shops in the city, opening Bayou Queen Body Art in 2014. I now own a private studio.

I specialize in water colour, full colour saturation, line work, dotwork, mandala, ornamental, fandom and nerdy tattoos. I also create surrealist and modern contemporary art outside of tattooing and would love to incorporate that into my tattoo work. My aim is to create surrealistic tattoos and art that stand the test of time.

What is your hourly rate and minimum and where are you located?

My hourly rate $150 an hour with a 3 hour minimum.

I take appointments at a private studio in New Orleans.

Healed Gustav Klimt Tattoo

Tattoo Aftercare

If I used Dynarex (a second skin type of water resistant bandage):

1. Keep the bandage on overnight and the next day remove in the shower. Use antibacterial pump action soap (such as Gold Dial antibacterial soap) and wash the tattooed area with your hand.

2. Rinse throughly in the shower and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Allow to air dry for a few minutes.

3. Apply the second bandage that I gave you in your tattoo appointment, ensuring there are no air bubbles and keep on for the next 4 days. You can shower normally during this time period, however do not submerge in water for long periods of time or sit in hot tubs/saunas and avoid direct sunlight.

4. After the 4 day period, you can remove the second bandage in the shower and just as before, wash throughly with antibacterial soap and rinse off.

5. Pat dry with a clean paper towel and at this point you may use a non scented white water based lotion, such as Cetaphil, Lubiderm Sensitive, Eucarin, etc. Only apply as and when it is necessary (if the area is feeling tight, dry or itchy). It should no longer be an open wound at this point, at most it might feel a little dry or itchy, with thin flaky skin. If you do not have any itchiness or flaky skin, even better! If you do have dome flakiness, this should be eased by lotion and may last around a week or so.

6. You may now resume your normal activities! Be sure to use extra strength sunblock to prolong the longevity of your tattoo when out in the sun.

If I did not use Dynarex on you:

1. You may remove the bandage in an hour or leave it on overnight.

2. Upon removal of the bandage, wash the area with antibacterial soap (Gold Dial pump action is recommended) and rinse off throughly in water.

3. Pat dry with a clean, paper towel. Allow to air dry for a few minutes.

4. If it feels a little tight and dry you can add a small amount of white water based unscented lotion such as Cetaphil, Lubiderm Sensitive or Eucarin. Apply a thin layer with clean hands, but do not smother the area. You can add this as and when it feels tight, dry or itchy, however ensure to wash the area 2-3 times a day with the antibacterial soap and pat dry with a clean paper towel first.

5. Healing time using this method will take roughly between 2-4 weeks. Do not pick, scratch, submerge in water, or spend time in hot tubs or saunas and avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.

6. After the 2-4 week period, any thin scabbing, flaky skin should have fallen away and you can enjoy our new tattoo and resume your normal activities! Be sure to use extra strength sunblock to prolong the longevity of your tattoo when out in the sun.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!

Is there anything else I should know about?

Please ensure that you come to your appointment either on your own or with one guest unless it is a small group of you getting tattooed together. Minors and children cannot accompany you as we cannot facilitate them. Unfortunately I do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18.

Upon arrival, you will be shown your tattoo design and sent a link to your consent form, so that you can complete that whilst I get set up for your tattoo. Please bring a valid photo ID with you.

If it is your first time getting tattooed, please ensure you have eaten a good meal prior to your arrival, and feel free to bring water and a snack or soft drink as a little pick me up. Please avoid alcohol, recreational drugs and caffeine. I love to share information about the tattoo process with you, so I am more than happy to go over these details in our session. So please feel free to ask questions! After the tattoo procedure, I will go over the aftercare with you and if you forget any of the instructions, you can always revert back to the “Tattoo Aftercare” section in this FAQ.

Please keep phone calls and Face Time to a minimum.

Drawings and designs are shown on the day at the appointment. No exceptions. I allow for 40 minutes outside of the tattoo time for set up and break down, any finalizing of designs (any minor amendments, resizing), bathroom breaks, etc. Should the tattoo idea have changed prior to the appointment, the tattoo will be rescheduled and a rescheduling fee charged. Please ensure you do not have a time limit for your tattoo session so that I can give you the amount of time and attention that your tattoo and you deserve.

I usually film and take photos of the tattoo so I may use this in my advertising through my social networks (Instagram, Facebook, Tik tok, YouTube and website). As an addition to your tattoo service, I also like to send these videos and photos to you after I have edited them as a souvenir of your experience! If this is something you do not feel comfortable with, please let me know, and I won’t film or take photos of your tattoo, consent is key and I want for you to feel comfortable.

If you are nervous, or have sensory issues, please let me know! I am neurodivergent, and understand if you would prefer a different music choice, or if you have any other sensory challenges, I will do my utmost best to accommodate your needs to ensure you are as comfortable as possible! I always strive to make each tattoo experience comfortable, safe, mindful and body positive as I believe that every tattoo experience should be positive and with healing intent, whether that be spiritual, emotional or mental. Feeling good about yourself is key, and I love for people to feel as relaxed as they can for the process.

I am in the business of adding to your uniqueness and celebrating your body, it’s what I strive for, for both healing purposes and to feel great about how you look!
